sertodo copper is a workshop operating between austin, texas and santa clara del cobre, michoacán since 1997. the practice maintains traditional coppersmithing techniques passed down through an unbroken thousand-year lineage in the sierra madre occidental. founder jonathan beall apprenticed under maestros maximo and chema before establishing the current workshop. each piece is hand-formed by master artisans, emphasizing material integrity and longevity. the work is positioned as functional heirloom rather than disposable goods.
